As a self-taught artist, Sherri started watching Bruce Blitz at age 5 and fell in love with cartooning. Throughout grade school and high school, Sherri would be “the artist” in group presentations. She started going to college for her Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and midway through learned her love for art was not as strong as her love for helping people, so ended up going to school for psychology and furthering her education for counseling. She continues to enjoy art and her current goal is to illustrate self-help books for children. Experience: Sherri worked for 2 years with the “Sign Ladies” painting large windows at car dealerships, other large and small businesses, and the San Diego ferries and landing. She taught art to first graders at a local elementary school and also to teenagers in the justice system in a rehab setting. In the past, Sherri has taken art courses in acrylic, colored pencil, pastel and Japanese sumi-e brush painting and in the future plans to take more courses to expand her knowledge of the arts. She joined AFA in excitement to display her mixed media.
